In Lund, innovators, entrepreneurs, and public-sector representatives gathered at The Loop for Skåne Innovation Day 2025. It was a day filled with energy and optimism, with regional research, entrepreneurship, and technological development taking centre stage.

A broad range of expertise was represented on stage, with Amelie Hallin (second from the left) contributing insights from Big Science.

Skåne Innovation Day

Region Skåne organises Skåne Innovation Day to strengthen the region’s innovation capacity and to create better conditions for business development.

Amelie Hallin from Big Science Sweden joined a panel discussing how to scale innovation with STEM competence, highlighting the opportunities linked to major research infrastructures such as ESS, CERN, FAIR and ITER.

Collaboration is essential.

She emphasised that access to the Big Science ecosystem provides not only business opportunities, but also a powerful engine for attracting and developing STEM talent in Sweden. Innovation and skills supply must go hand in hand, which is why collaboration is essential.

“At ESS we have launched a new trainee programme in vacuum technology, which is a great example of this. It simply would not have been possible without the collaboration between Big Science Sweden, Teknikcollege, ESS, and the support from Region Skåne,” Amelie Hallin underlines.
