Science Village in Lund – a place of endless possibilities
Science Village Community comes to life.
Science Village benefits from a location that is unique not only in Sweden but internationally. Situated between ESS and MAX IV, and with excellent transport links to Lund, Malmö and Copenhagen, the area has all the ingredients needed to become a globally recognised innovation district.
“There is nowhere else in the world where two world-leading Big Science facilities are located so close together and within an hour of a major international airport,” said Helmut Schober, Director General of ESS.
Building relationships
A recurring theme throughout the day was the importance of building relationships.
“We know we have world-class facilities here in Lund. The next step is making sure the rest of the world knows it too,” said Olof “Charlie” Karis, Director of MAX IV.
For Big Science Sweden, this message strongly reflects the organisation’s mission of connecting industry, research and international Big Science facilities.
Collaboration and business opportunities
“For companies looking to collaborate with or deliver to Big Science facilities, relationships matter. This is a natural meeting place where ideas, expertise and partnerships can develop into future collaborations and business opportunities,” says Amelie Hallin, External Relations Manager at Big Science Sweden.
