Cross-sector collaboration showcased at Big Science Breakfast in Lund
We kicked-off this autumn season with a Big Science Breakfast at The Loop in Lund.
The joint effort by RISE, AQ Elautomatik, and Lund University has resulted in the design of a new type of power converter for extreme environments. This is a clear example of how Sweden’s strengths in power electronics can support Big Science facilities worldwide.
As always, people stayed on to mingle – just the way we like it.
Max Collins, Big Science Sweden and Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO) for F4E/ITER.
Patrik Olsson, Marketing Coordinator at AQ Elautomatik in Lund. AQ specialises in electrical equipment, electric cabinets, control equipment, control desks, and control systems for demanding industrial applications.
Håkan Nilsson, Big Science Sweden and formerly RISE, shared RISE’s experience of working on projects with ITER.
ITER, currently under construction in Cadarache, France, is a global project to build the world’s largest tokamak for research into fusion energy. Experiments at the facility will advance fusion science and prepare the way for the fusion power plants of tomorrow. ITER will be the first facility to integrate all the technologies needed to operate a fusion reactor.
