Remote Handling (RH) at FAIR, Darmstadt, Germany
Currently, FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) is an international accelerator facility, one of the largest research projects worldwide, is being built in Darmstadt, Germany. To built and operate a unique FAIR particle accelerator facility, cutting-edge technologies, innovative measuring methods and techniques, and customized state-of-the-art pieces of equipment are being developed.
Remote Handling (RH) will play an important role in Super-FRS (Super-Fragment Separator) at FAIR. One of these significant RH projects is regarding Super-FRS target area components maintenance, where due to high levels of radiation human access will be prohibited. The Remote Handling (RH) systems will be used to conduct remote inspections and maintenance for the Super-FRS components. This contribution will present the current and future remote handling technical aspects, needs and projects for the Super-FRS facility. Feel free to join us and taking part in the upcoming procurements.
