APPEC Tech Forum Vacuum & Cryogenics

Monday, 24 November 2025, 11:30 - Wednesday, 26 November 2025, 17:00 (Google calendar) (ICS)

APPEC Tech Forum Vacuum & Cryogenics
Vrijthof 24, 6211 LD Maastricht, Netherlands (Google maps)

Held first in Darmstadt in 2012, the APPEC Tech Forum now returns through a collaboration between IUVSTA, national vacuum societies (Netherlands, Germany), Maastricht University, NIKHEF, KIT, and APPEC.

Industry meets Academia

European physicists in astroparticle physics and related fields are planning next-generation experiments over the coming decade. Success in areas such as direct dark matter detection, low-energy neutrino research, neutrino properties, gravitational wave detection, and accelerator-based physics depends critically on advanced vacuum and cryogenic technologies.

Boosting collaboration

APPEC brings together companies, project scientists, and funding bodies to align project timelines, market readiness, and technology needs..

Pre-registration

You can pre-register your email now to receive updates (June 2025)

Register your interest, whether you’d like to present a poster for your experiment or showcase your company’s products and services.

More information

Topics for the workshop discussions:

  • Requirements for upcoming projects regarding vacuum and cryogenic technologies
  • Technological challenges
  • Available products and necessary R&D activities
  • The potential for joint research initiatives
  • Whether a unified R&D strategy can be adopted by both research institutes and industry partners
  • The impact of these developments on other scientific fields or market-ready products
  • Common obstacles in scientist–industry collaboration, including the typical needs of each party

broschure was published after the previous meeting, providing an overview of participating experiments and companies.
