European physicists are planning next-generation experiments in astroparticle physics. Success in areas such as dark matter detection, neutrino research, gravitational waves, and accelerator-based physics will rely on advanced vacuum and cryogenic technologies.
This forum is a unique meeting point where researchers, engineers, and industry representatives come together to explore new opportunities for collaboration in vacuum and cryogenics technologies.
Over three days, participants will hear presentations from leading scientists, network with international stakeholders, and discuss the future needs of industry.
Topics for the workshop discussions:
- Requirements for upcoming projects regarding vacuum and cryogenic technologies
- Technological challenges
- Available products and necessary R&D activities
- The potential for joint research initiatives
- Whether a unified R&D strategy can be adopted by both research institutes and industry partners
- The impact of these developments on other scientific fields or market-ready products
- Common obstacles in scientist–industry collaboration, including the typical needs of each party
Organisers
The APPEC Tech Forum is organised in collaboration with IUVSTA, the national vacuum societies of the Netherlands and Germany, Maastricht University, NIKHEF, KIT, and APPEC.
