This two-day, in-person workshop will gather specialists from industry, research laboratories, Big Science organisations and academia to initiate the development of a European community and a strategic roadmap for Advanced Fusion Materials.
Background
Advanced materials are central to the realisation of future fusion energy systems and related advanced nuclear technologies. The workshop will focus on identifying material technologies with strong potential for application in next-generation fusion power plants and on defining priorities for innovation-driven development.
By bringing together leading experts, the initiative aims to clarify critical technology gaps and support future funding and investment strategies within the field of fusion materials.
Site visit
Participants will have the opportunity to visit the European Spallation Source (ESS) on the morning of Thursday, 7 May 2026.
