This framework contract will cover the execution of cyclic high heat flux testing of plasma-facing components to assess their performance under operating conditions.
Typically, the surface is flux is applied via an electron beam gun and has to reach a value of up to 20 MW per square meters. The number of thermal fatigue cycles to be applied for each component is of the order of a few thousands. The maximum size of the components to be tested is, indicatively, 2 x 0.8 x 0.7 m, and the mass is up to 800 kg.
The components are actively cooled by pressurized water (inlet pressure and temperature 4 MPa and 70 C, respectively). Specific requirements are requested on the water coolant chemistry (typically on the electrical conductivity, oxygen content, pH) and flow rate (typically a few cubic meters per second).
This tender is for the establishment of a framework contract. Task Orders will be placed for the execution of each testing campaign.
