Technology Solutions for the ESO Paranal Observatory Integrated Operations

Request for information (RFI) to investigate different solutions available on the market for the implementation of the Integrated Operations processes for the ESO Observatories at Paranal. The RFI will be released within Q1/2022 to potential suppliers in the ESO Member States, Chile and Australia. The RFI foresees the organisation of one or more Industry Day/s for the exchange of information between ESO and interested suppliers. The exact dates and number of Industry Days will be communicated to interested suppliers during the RFI. Based on the outcome from the RFI ESO will define procurement strategies for the award of relevant contracts in order to implement industrial technology solutions, supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the Observatory’s operation processes. The estimated dates for the release of the relevant Call for Tenders will be defined along with such procurement strategies and communicated to interested suppliers accordingly. The preliminary scope of operation processes considered for this RFI would include, among other: - Intelligent Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for data driven condition-based maintenance - Smart Metering of industrial facilities - Intelligent operations planning tools, connecting various task disciplines - Centralised management of electric power for distributed sites - Central security and safety management for large scale multi-facility sites - Integrated operations planning and taks scheduling - Inter-site logistics solutions - Central smart building management systems for large scale multi-facility sites - IoT technology supporting large and distributed facility operations
