Call for tender (CFT) covering the delivery of one 20 metric tons Azimuth Bridge Carriage for the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), located at Armazones site, 120 Km South of Antofagasta, Atacama Region in Chile. The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, assembly, certification and delivery of a carriage intended to transport delicate and heavy optical units over short distances within the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT) building at Cerro Armazones. The base scope includes delivery in Europe, with an option for delivery in Chile. The scope also includes operation and maintenance training in Europe or Chile. The Azimuth Bridge Carriage shall comply with the minimum following requirements: - Transport of equipment with a mass up to 20 tonnes; - Maximum Dimension 6000x5100x800 mm (LxWxH); - Electrically self-propelled; - Rail-mounted carriage; - CE (Conformité Européenne) Certification. The CFT is scheduled to be issued in Q3/2026 to potential suppliers in the ESO Members States and Chile. The contract is expected to be awarded in Q3/2026, to the Bidder, which has submitted a fully compliant Tender and offers the best value for money for ESO taking into account the quality and price of the offer.
