The SIS100 gamma-t jump quadrupole magnets are used in the quadrupole doublet modules type 2.9D (2.9
and 2.D) in SIS100. The magnets generate a quadrupole magnetic field. The magnet is a normal conducting
magnet. The magnetic field is mainly formed by the iron yoke. The magnet cable consists of a copper
conductor with a cooling channel cooled by two phase Helium flow. The magnet is excited with an electric
current supplied from local current leads installed on the cryostat.
All details of the unit integration are described in the relevant specifications.
It should be noted that this specification describes the magnet as a room temperature object for use at
cryogenic condition (4.5 K). Acceptance of the magnet will be based on specified tests at room temperature.
