ILL wishes to purchase a rheometer for Small Angle Neutron Scattering and Reflectometry on a brand name:
- An easy interface to co-ordinate Rheology measurements with SANS and Reflectometer instruments
- The ability to be moved regularly on and off the beam platform to provide both off-line and on-line rheological
measurements
- The sample temperature should be controlled over a range extending from -20°C (preferably -50°C) to 180°C with an
absolute precision ±0.25°C without affecting "unobstructed" issue
- Specific tools ensuring an easy alignment of the cup and bob on the SANS instruments as well as a reproducibility in the
alignment (no loss of alignment) when cleaning and replacing samples
- The compatibility of the rheometer with most of the geometry tools that are already used at the ILL, especially the ones
made in Quartz that are rare and expensive.
- A double motor to allow direct strain measurements as well as stress-controlled rheology and to allow high torque
resolution
- Counter-rotation and counter-oscillation modes in order to create a fixed stagnation point and higher speed and strains.
