PR121237-JSC Supply of the welded steel framework structure for the Phasing and Diagnostic Station (PDS) of the ELT

The present procurement is for the manufacturing of the PDS framework structure, which provides the steel backbone to host the individual optomechanical sensor subsystems on specific interfaces and provides addi onal support interface points for auxiliary equipment to the sensor subsystems (for example cooling pipe or cabling a achment points in form of Rivkle thread inserts to the structure profiles). The framework structure with rough outer dimensions of 4m x 1.6m x 1.6m, weighing about 500kg, is a welded steel structure, made of profiles with mostly rectangular (some circular) profile cross sec ons and mostly 4mm wall thickness, which requires precision cu ng and welding. For structural integrity and dimensional stability, thermal treatment such as annealing and correc ve itera ons if needed, as well as subsequent machining of specific areas shall be performed before a powder-coa ng or pain ng surface finish is applied.
