Research Facility

ILL

The Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) is an international research institute and a world leader in neutron science and technology. The Lipid deuteration platform “L-Lip” within ILL, caters to the needs of the ILL user community, through making available a wide range of pure natural phospholipid molecules. Qualitative information and quantification of such natural phospholipid molecules will require the need for a single quadrupole mass detector that could be a stand-alone instrument with the possibility of coupling it to an Agilent HPLC in order to carry out phospholipid analysis. Key criteria of the single quadrupole mass spectrometer: 1.) A quadrupole mass analyzer that acts as a mass filter for Lipidomics 2.) One that can carry out single ion monitoring and full scan monitoring 3.) Mass range detection = 10 - 2000 m/z 4.) Scan rate = up to 20000 (Da/s) 5.) Electrospray source 6.) Easy quantitation and rapid method development 7.) Insource fragmentation
