The high flux reactor of the Institute Max von Laue-Paul Langevin (ILL) produces neutrons for scientific research. They are guided through coated glass tubes called neutron guides from the reactor to the experiments. A neutron guide is made of glass and propagates the neutrons by reflection from its walls. The exact alignment of the individual guide elements is crucial for the performance of the final guide. The present specification concerns the production of a vacuum tight steel housing for the H15 neutron guide system. On the housing, accuracy systems are mounted to support and to align the neutron guides. The present document is the reference document for the tender and the manufacturing of the H15 housings. 2. Scope of the contract The chosen manufacturer is asked to tender the following deliverables: Ø Raw material supply Ø Manufacturing of the housing and all parts assuming the vacuum tightness. Ø Acceptance test (In particular Helium leak testing) Ø Providing of all necessary reference documents: o Test procedures and quality assurance plan o Control sheets and tests reports o Certificate of Conformity for all materials used Ø Providing of O-Ring for leak test Ø Toolings for tests and controls Ø Insurance Ø Packing, transport and delivery to the ILL
