MS-4671/EP/CMS - Supply of spacers and stiffeners machined by micro-waterjet cutting for the CMS Outer Tracker modules

This Technical Description concerns the supply of a large number of machined Aluminium Nitride (AlN) spacers (approximately 61000 pieces) and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) stiffeners (approximately 80200 pieces), machined by micro-waterjet cutting. The spacers and stiffeners will be used for the production of modules for the CERN’s CMS Outer Tracker for Phase 2. This Market Survey will be followed by an Invitation to Tender that is planned to be issued in summer 2021. CERN reserves the right to award the contract in separate lots and to one or more contractors. In this respect, selected firms or groups of firms will be qualified for the supply of AlN or CFRP parts, or for both.
