Mass Spectrometer

This procurement is for a stand-alone (not coupled to gas or liquid chromatography) mass spectrometer, an analytical instrument that determines the molecular mass of a compound. Mass spectrometry is a technique that is routinely used in all synthetic chemistry laboratories. It is particularly useful for the deuteration lab as it allows for the calculation of deuterium incorporation, as well as for molecular identification. It will be used to determine the molecular weight of synthesised compounds using soft ionisation methods resulting in intact ion analysis.
