Research Facility
ESRF
The ESRF requires a channel cut monochromator (CCM) to generate a monochromatic X-ray beam with a high energy resolution in an X-ray beam energy range of 7-35 KeV. The CCM will operate in vertical reflection geometry with two sets of liquid nitrogen cooled channel cut silicon crystals (111 and 311) designed by ESRF. The present CFT concerns the supply and manufacturing of a high resolution (< 1µrad) & repeatability bragg axis over an angular stroke of 60 degrees, the vacuum vessel (<10-8 mbar) and an high stability motorized (horizontal and vertical) support to minimize the effects of vibrations and long term positional drifts. The contractor will design, manufacture, assemble, & test the CCM assembly without crystal and cooling (ESRF supply). A high level of competence in micro positioning mechanics & UHV vacuum technology, and previous relevant experience in high resolution monochromator for such requirement is crucial.
