We are seeking a technology provider for a spectrometer specifically
designed for nonlinear soft X-ray spectroscopy and scattering experiments,
including pump-probe resonant inelastic X-ray scattering. The spectrometer
must feature a grating chamber accommodating up to three gratings and a
detector chamber with an interchangeable, position-sensitive X-ray detector,
as well as an alignment module. Gratings and detector are not part of the
project.
Key specifications include:
- Grating deformation-free positioning with few micrometer / tens
microradian accuracy and motorised rotation with sub-microradian accuracy.
- Detector chamber motorised movement with few micrometers over few hundreds
millimeters accuracy.
- Precise alignment of the grating and detector axes separated by about 1.5
m, with overall alignment accuracy within 0.1 mm and parallelism within 1
mrad.
- Accommodation of additional components as masks, filters, slits, imagers,
movable with micrometer accuracy.
- Motorised alignment module to bring the spectrometer in the beam position.
- The spectrometer shall be mobile and consist of two modules, each of them
shall weight <1 ton.
- The spectrometer should effectively minimize vibrational effects within a
frequency range of 0.01 Hz to 100 Hz. In operational conditions, the
mechanical structure should exhibit a vibrational transfer function better
than 10.
- Vacuum components must achieve a base pressure of ≤1 x 10^-8 mbar in both
the grating chamber and the bellows section.
- The provider must have documented experience with production of soft X-Ray
grating spectrometers or monochromators of similar size and complexity.
