High-heat-load monochromator with horizontal scattering plane

ID14 beamline needs to be equipped with a cryogenically-cooled double-crystal “fixed-exit” monochromator with a horizontal plane of x-ray beam scattering and independent rotation of two crystals, including goniometer and vacuum vessel. Supporting table and cryogenic cooling system are NOT included, and will be provided by ESRF. The performance of the “fixed-exit” should be provided by motorized 400 mm-long horizontal translation of the first crystal.The horizontal position of the second crystal is fixed. The exit beam should be horizontally shifted by 16 mm relative to the incident beam. Goniometers for each crystal should include Bragg-angle rotation, tilt-angle rotation, and horizontal linear positioning stage. The horizontal linear positioning stages are manual, all other stages are motorized. The required minimum incremental motion for Bragg stages is 0.1 micro-rad. All requested motorized motions should be provided by stepping motors. Piezo-drivers and other types of actuators are excluded.
