The Dust Monitor diagnostic is a remotely driven semi-automated endoscope inserted into the Vacuum Vessel (VV) for visual survey and dust collection. The mobile equipment of the diagnostic consists of several subsystems, allowing endoscope manipulation in vacuum, within permanent tracks attached to the VV. The main automated subsystems are a guide tube selector, endoscope push/pull/rescue and cleaning mechanism and a head exchange unit. The work will be focused on the development of the mechanical and automation design for these, aiming to achieve fully functional prototypes and test its performance.
