This document is a technical specification for the energy extraction systems (EE) which use semi- conductors as DC circuit breakers to commutate a DC current of 2kA into a dump resistor for the purpose of quench protection of Hi-Lumi superconducting magnets. It concerns the production, qualification and delivery of two (2) systems to CERN as part of the in-kind contribution toSweden’s university Uppsala in their FREIA Laboratory.
