CFT 3730 TitleOn-site Transport of Scientific Samples and Equipment Between the ESRF Store and the ESRF Beamlines

The ESRF is launching a CFT to select a service provider responsible for the on-site transport of scientific samples and equipment between the ESRF store, beamlines and other on-site locations. The service provider will manage the daily transport of valuable scientific samples received from users via courier companies. Most samples (around 90%) are shipped in cryogenic containers (“dewars”), while the remainder are transported in dry ice boxes or ambient-temperature containers. These samples must be transported from the ESRF store to the beamlines in time for scheduled experiments while preserving the cold chain for cryogenically cooled and refrigerated samples. In addition, the service will include the delivery of equipment of various sizes and weights (up to 500 kg per item) from the ESRF store to designated locations across the site. This service is essential to the ESRF’s operational workflow and will ensure the safe handling, timely transport, and reliable delivery of scientific samples and equipment.
