In 2020, the ESRF has commissioned the first 4th generation high energy electron storage ring X-ray source EBS (Extremely Brilliant Source). 13 new 352.37 MHz Radio Frequency (RF) cavities generate the required 6 MV accelerating voltage and transfer up to about 700 kW of RF power to the stored electron beam: 3 cavities are individually fed from 150 kW solid state amplifiers (SSA) and 10 cavities from a 1.1 MW klystron transmitters. In the coming years the 30 years old klystron transmitters will be replaced by 10 SSA, each powering one cavity. The object of this call for tender is the delivery of a first batch of 7 RF solid state amplifiers, each delivering up to 100 to 110 kW of RF power at 352.37 MHz. The SSA shall include an adequate RF protection system, a local control and the AC/DC power converters, that will be powered from the ESRF 400 V AC distribution. Drain voltage modulation is required for maximum efficiency at reduced output power. The delivery shall be distributed over the years 2022 to 2025.
