CFT-003074 (Two multi-element Silicon Drift Diode X-Ray fluorescence detectors)

Two multi-element Silicon Drift Diode (SDD) X-Ray fluorescence detectors are required for the ID21 X-ray Microscopy beamline. The detectors will have a close-packed geometry of five SDD devices maximum, encased within suitable mechanical housings that include fast risetime and low noise preamplifiers for connection to external digital pulse processor (DPP). The DPP is not part of the deliverables Each detectors will be equipped with a vacuum flange and a flexible bellow, to enable its mounting on the beamline vacuum chamber. The detector shall be capable of X-ray detection over the range 1 to 11keV with an input count rate capability per element of at least 1Mcps while providing energy resolutions close to the Fano limit.
