A multi-element Silicon Drift Diode (SDD) X-Ray fluorescence detector is required for the ID24 beamline. The detector will have a close-packed geometry of seven SDD devices, encased within suitable mechanical housings that include fast risetime, low noise preamplifiers for connection to external digital pulse processor (DPP). The DPP is not part of the deliverables. The detector will be operated in ambient air condition in a temperature controlled experimental hutch. The detector shall be capable of X-ray detection over the range 2 to 25keV with an input count rate capability per element of at least 3Mcps while providing energy resolutions close to the Fano limit.
