[3572] Purchase of a Complete High Power RF UNIT for the COLD Project

Construction, tests and delivery at the ESRF of a complete RF Unit composed by a klystron, a modulator based on solid state technology and all related auxiliaries. The RF Unit must fulfill the following main specifications: RF peak power of 35MW, pulse duration larger than 4.5 microseconds, frequency range in the European S-Band (3GHz). These specifications have been chosen to allow to use this high power RF unit to power the RF gun of the COLD Project but also to become a valid spare to feed a LINAC accelerating structure at the end of the COLD Project.
