Lot #1 Software design, development and test services Software development, design, test, maintenance and user support of control system components. Competence requirements include Java (SE/EE), C, C++, Python, Databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL or similar open database projects), GUI/Web, Software architecture and Test driven methodology. One example of a current ongoing project is the Cable Database which is a web-based application that will support the tracking, configuration and labelling of thousands of cables in all phases of the ESS project. The Cable Database is an integrated control system application. Lot #2 Control system software development and training services Software development, test, maintenance and user support of control system open source software components. Competence requirements include experience from working with relevant control system open source software components such as EPICS, Control System Studio Phoebus, Open XAL. ESS is participating in the development of the open source community control system software frameworks. One example is ESS’ contribution to EPICS7/pvAccess, further extending the functionality which is a vital part of this next generation of EPICS. Lot #3 Software project administration and technical documentation services The ESS working setup is quite complex, and increasingly so, with the involvement of many different stakeholders and partners. ESS foresees the need for additional resources to support with project administration and technical documentation services as ESS does not, nor plan to, have the capacity in-house, as the need is not a long term, permanent need. Therefore it is expected that ESS will from time to time require support from experienced resources working with complex multifaceted projects..
