ESRF

Description The ESRF has a system comprising several hundred capacitive sensors used to monitor changes in height. Data is recuperated from these sensors and communicated to servers using dedicated controller racks. We are looking to upgrade or replace these racks. There are two families of racks, the 2nd and 3rd Generation. The 2nd Generation rack has 8 ±10 V inputs and the 3rd Generation has 8 I2C inputs. The racks are powered by ±15 V. Output from the rack is via ethernet. We need to record values in situ on the racks in text files and be able to transfer them to a server via ethernet. The racks should be programable in Python, so a microcomputer (Arduino, Raspberry) is desired. Finally, we need a valve controller rack. The valve comprises a 24 V DC motor and limit switches indicating its status. This rack must power, control and return the status of the 8 valves connected to it. Communication is via ethernet. We require 50 2nd Generation, 75 3rd Generation and 32 valve controller racks.
