297 Maintenance of the VLT and VLTI Common Software Infrastructure and software of LPO instruments7

Call for Tender (CFT) covering consultancy services for the maintenance of VLT and VLTI Common Software Infrastructure and instruments code at the observatory. The CFT is scheduled to be issued in Q1/2022 to companies in the ESO Member States. The scope of the work includes corrective, preventive and adaptive maintenance. Senior-level skills in programming C, C++, Python in a Linux environment are mandatory. Real time programming under VxWorks and with Beckhoff PLCs is also required. Expertise in modern astronomical interferometry is a must for the maintenance of the VLTI infrastructure, as well as a deep knowledge of Tcl/Tk for maintenance of GUI interfaces. The effort is expected to represent up to 4 FTEs over 2 years with an option for an extension of up to a total of 5 years. The contract is expected to start on 1 October 2022. The contract is expected to be awarded in Q3/2022, to the Bidder, which has submitted a fully compliant tender and offers the best value for money for ESO taking into account the quality and price of the offer.
