This project focuses on the procurement of a commercial compression-tension stress rig ( also known as "in-situ mechanical tester" or "mechanical load frames for X-ray imaging systems" ) enabling versatile, rapid and straightforward use across several tomography beamlines (e.g. ID19, BM05, ID11). The design parameters that this stress rig would need to fulfil are the following: -BLISS integration; - modular tensile & compression testing system able to be rapidly installed on tomography stages with max force of 5 kN; - two load cells of 0.5kN and 5kN; - being easily portable (<5kg); - axis-symmetric design allowing for 360-degree fast rotation without eccentric load on a rotation stage; - compatibility with electric slip ring; - simple sample mounting and dismounting; -travel of 20 mm; -up to 4 mm/min displacement rate; - the cooling ability to -20 degrees.
