Back from BSBF: new connections and opportunities ahead
Our networking reception on day one drew a large crowd.
A shared space
The Nordic–Baltic Pavilion brought Sweden, Norway, Estonia and Latvia together in a shared space that worked well. It gave our companies a strong, visible presence and a welcoming base for meeting potential customers and partners across the Big Science market.
There was room for business discussions around the long table, as well as more relaxed conversations on the gold pouffes. Our networking reception on day one drew a large crowd and set a friendly, lively tone for the days ahead. Feedback from participants highlighted the smooth organisation, good conversations and welcoming atmosphere.
On stage
Beyond the pavilion, several Big Science Sweden colleagues contributed to the conference programme. Catarina Sahlberg, Programme Director, moderated a panel discussion on sustainability featuring the Directors-General of ESO, SKAO, ILL och ESRF. She also convened a session on artificial intelligence and machine learning, bringing together representatives from Big Science organisations and industry.
Fredrik Engelmark, ILO to CERN, hosted a panel on advanced materials and manufacturing technologies with panellists from CERN, ESA and Fusion for Energy.
SMEs in focus
Two Swedish companies, Heftytec and Savantic, were part of BSBF’s SME Track. This offered a unique opportunity to connect with Big Science organisations, showcase their capabilities and explore high-tech procurement opportunities. Their posters were displayed throughout the conference.
Looking ahead
A warm thank you to our companies, our colleagues in Norway, Estonia and Latvia, and everyone who joined us.
